4. Regulations – brake block or guidance for future energy solutions?

The energy sector consists of natural monopolies, like grid companies (DSOs and TSOs), and market actors. Both are regulated by national regulators and, from now on, by the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). How will different national regulators adapt to ACER’s goals for a Single Energy Market to the benefit of all EU consumers? This session will provide examples from current European regulations and discuss which consequences ACER will lead to in the years to come.
